Da Lian Da You Shang Group launches a 3KW high-density power supply solution based on onsemi products

Da Lian Da Holdings, an international leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Youshang has launched a 3KW high-density power supply solution based on Ansemi's NCP1681 and NCP4390 chips, as well as SiC MOSFETs.

Currently, both the transformation of automobile electrification and the rapid development of emerging markets such as photovoltaics and energy storage have played a positive role in promoting sustainable social development. In this context, the industry's demand for more compact and efficient power supplies is increasing day by day. To meet this demand, Da Lian Da You Shang has launched a 3KW high-density power supply solution based on the onsemi NCP1681 high-power totem pole PFC controller, NCP4390 LLC controller, and SiC MOSFET to assist in efficient and small-sized power supply design.

To reduce losses, this scheme eliminates input rectifier diodes and uses totem pole PFC circuits and 650V SiC MOSFETs. The secondary side adopts a control LLC converter design with synchronous rectification function. Among them, the PFC level scheme adopts the onsemi NCP1681 totem pole PFC controller, which can operate in continuous conduction mode (CCM) and critical conduction mode (CrM). And NCP1681 has fast load transient compensation response, various protection functions, and PFC-OK signal supply for subsequent power supply timing control, which is very suitable for scenarios that require high efficiency, high power factor, and high stability PFC.

At the LLC level, S1 and S2 form a half bridge. The resonant bridge is composed of an inductor Lr, a capacitor Cr, and a transformer. In the circuit, the NCP4390 controller is used to control six MOSFETs in the application. The primary MOSFET is directly driven by the electrically isolated double half bridge driver NCP51561. The isolation junction half bridge driver NCP81705 drives the secondary MOSFET, and its isolation voltage rating is lower than the primary PFC device, but it has a higher operating switching frequency. NCP4390 is a current mode LLC controller that makes the dynamic response of LLC easier. During operation, NCP4390 also significantly improves load regulation performance, which can compensate for sudden load changes without waiting for voltage changes and making frequency responses through resonant circuits.

This SiC MOS device supports high-frequency PFC and adopts advanced totem pole bridgeless PFC controllers, as well as high-frequency LLC stages with operating frequencies up to 150KHz. High power density is achieved through high-efficiency full bridge synchronous rectification on the output stage.

This scheme has excellently completed the design of AC to DC power supply. It uses a totem pole controller and half bridge resonant full wave synchronous rectification output for efficient conversion. The power unit can accept input voltages of 80VAC-240VAC and provide 48V or 54V DC output. In addition, thanks to these advanced devices, the power density of this scheme exceeds 40W/in3, and the full load efficiency is 98.4%.
