Latest news, Tesla announced that due to a shortage of parts supply, its Berlin super factory will suspend most of its car production work from January 29th to February 11th.
Tesla became the company that interrupted production due to the recent Red Sea shipping crisis. Other companies such as IKEA have also warned that delivery will be delayed. The factory's production interruption this time has brought more pressure to Tesla.
Tesla also had a labor dispute with the Swedish union IFMetall over refusing to sign a collective bargaining agreement, which sparked sympathy from many unions in the Nordic region.
On November 24th, union workers from Hydro Extrades, a subsidiary of Norwegian aluminum and energy company Hydro, stopped producing parts for Tesla's electric vehicle products. These workers are all members of the Swedish union IF Metall. Tesla did not respond to requests regarding whether the discontinuation of the Hydro Extrudes would affect production.
Tesla stated that production at the Berlin super factory will fully resume on February 12th. But the company did not respond to the details of which parts were in short supply, nor did it respond to how production will resume at that time.
In recent months, European car manufacturers and analysts have warned that the sales growth rate of the entire electric vehicle industry is not as fast as expected. Some industry companies are lowering prices in an attempt to boost market demand affected by economic uncertainty.
