Ames Osram (Swiss Stock Exchange: AMS), a leading global optical solution provider, recently announced the launch of innovative QR code product innovation technology, aimed at helping automotive lighting module and system manufacturers improve production capacity and efficiency, while ensuring high consistency in optical quality and performance.
Data Matrix Code (DMC) is an innovative technology that prints unique machine readable codes on the surface of each LED package. At present, DMC technology has been applied to some products of the Ames Osram OSIRE series automotive LED. The QR code on the packaging corresponds to specific data for each LED production unit, including color coordinates, light intensity, and forward voltage under dual current settings.
This dual current setting provides manufacturers with the widest range of dimming options, which can flexibly adapt to daytime and nighttime lighting modes while meeting the stringent requirements of the automotive industry for color stability.

Ames Osram has successfully increased the value of its automotive LED products by introducing QR code technology. This technology can provide conclusive data, providing strong support for factory digitization and automation processes. At present, three car grade LED products are equipped with this advanced technology:
·OSIRE E5515 is an RGB "side illuminated" LED designed specifically for modern automotive interior environmental lighting. The OSIRE E5515 adopts a white thin surface mount package, which is very suitable for compact optical coupling. In addition, the shell material has been optimized to have higher temperature stability, thereby improving compatibility with IMSE (in mold structure electronics) processes. This product can be ordered through part number KRTB AELPS2.32.
·OSIRE E3323 is an RGB top emitting LED designed specifically for ambient lighting in car interiors. Using an ultra small size of only 3.3mm x 2.3mm x 0.7mm, is it OSIRE? The most compact product in the series, while achieving a more flexible design than existing triangular or inline RGB chip configurations. This product can be ordered through part numbers KRTB DWLM31.32 or KRTB DWLM32.32.
Ames Osram will print QR codes on each LED, and manufacturers can choose whether to use these data according to their actual needs. In the future, this value-added feature is likely to be promoted to other products in the OSIRE series.
