Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of upgraded TFBS4xx and TFDU4xx series infrared (IR) transceiver modules suitable for IrDA applications, extending link distance by 20% and improving ESD resistance to 2 kV. The device supports a data rate of 115.2 kbit/s (SIR) with a link distance of 1 meter, suitable for energy meters and monitors, industrial automation control, wireless communication and data transmission of mobile phones and medical devices. To improve the battery life of portable devices, the module reduces power consumption and idle power supply current<70 μ A. Shutdown mode<1 μ A.
The Vishay Semiconductors TFBS4xxx and TFDU4xxx series devices include PIN photodiodes, infrared emitters (IREDs), and low-power control ICs in a single package. The upgraded infrared transceiver adopts Vishay's newly developed IC and surface emitter chip technology, aiming to ensure long-term supply of IRDC products to customers. As a plug and play alternative to existing devices, these modules do not require redesigning PCBs, which helps to save costs.
