Recently, Horizon held its 2025 product launch event in Shanghai and launched the L2 urban assisted driving system - Horizon HSD. It not only showcased its leading technological strength, but also deeply interpreted the industry development trend of accelerating the popularization of automotive intelligence, becoming the forefront of the Shanghai Auto Show. The Horizon Journey 6P serves as the technological foundation, providing powerful and abundant computing resources for the urban assisted driving system HSD. Arm's powerful CPU computing power provides critical support for the Journey 6P to efficiently handle complex computing tasks. Arm is committed to empowering chips and OEM partners through advanced computing platforms to enhance the performance and reliability of automobiles, thereby bringing users a smarter, safer, and more convenient driving experience.
Building a foundation for assisted driving technology with outstanding performance and reliability
Nowadays, intelligent technologies such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), intelligent human-computer interaction, and in car infotainment (IVI) systems are profoundly revolutionizing the driving experience of automobiles. In this transformation, Horizon HSD is becoming a new solution for building a new generation of urban assisted driving.
The Journey 6P computing solution carried by HSD is aimed at the next generation of urban assisted driving, integrating rich computing resources such as CPU, GPU, MCU, etc. The computing power can reach 560 TOPS, and a single chip can support full stack computing tasks for urban assisted driving. Arm technology injects powerful computing power support into the Journey 6P solution, helping it efficiently handle complex algorithms and real-time data tasks. Among them, the functional safety design of Arm Cortex-A78AE covers hybrid critical architecture, hardware level safety mechanisms, and core partitioning and locking technology, which can efficiently meet the safety requirements of assisted driving. These features not only provide a high-performance and high reliability technological foundation for the Horizon Journey 6P, but also help the evolution of assisted driving technology towards efficiency and safety.

The Horizon HSD will be launched globally as an advanced solution for Chery's "Falcon" along with the Journey 6P computing solution under the Xingtu brand, and will officially enter mass production in September 2025. So far, Horizon has achieved mass production and shipment of over 8 million sets of pre installed vehicles, produced and launched over 200 models, and produced over 310 designated models, accompanying over 5 million car owners for safe and beautiful travel.
Behind this impressive set of data, Arm technology provides strong support. From Journey 2 to Journey 6 series assisted driving computing solutions, Horizon and Arm have maintained close technical cooperation, empowering multiple models from manufacturers including SAIC, Chery, BYD, GAC, Geely, Volkswagen, Ideal, NIO, and more. It is worth mentioning that NIO's new brand Firefly model with the same name, equipped with Horizon's journey computing solution, has been officially launched recently, becoming a highlight of the Shanghai Auto Show. The close collaboration between Arm and its partners not only drives the rapid evolution of assisted driving technology, but also witnesses the prosperity of the automotive industry.
Arm technology continues to evolve, building the foundation of computing power for future cars
In the automotive field, Arm has been dedicated to investment for over 20 years, continuously driving technological evolution, and its technology has always led the development of industry applications. Nowadays, Arm AE IP, which combines excellent performance, scalability, energy efficiency, and unique safety features, has become the cornerstone of automotive electronic products, continuously empowering leading automotive OEMs at home and abroad. In the era of AI, in order to meet the market's demand for high automotive computing power and performance levels, Arm has introduced server level Neoverse CPUs into the Arm AE IP product line, creating a new automotive specific CPU - Arm Neoverse V3AE - specifically designed for high-end ADAS and intelligent driving use cases that require ultra-high single threaded performance. This is also the first time that Arm has brought the Armv9 architecture into automotive applications, benefiting the industry from the advantages of AI, security, and virtualization features brought by the new generation of Arm architecture.
This year, Arm will also launch the Automotive Computing Subsystem (CSS), providing pre integrated and validated AE IP configurations for partner ecosystems to further optimize performance, power consumption, and chip area.
With expertise in energy efficiency, performance, and functional safety, continuous technological evolution closely aligned with industry trends, and close collaboration with ecological partners, Arm's market share in the automotive industry continues to grow. Currently, 94% of car manufacturers worldwide have adopted Arm technology in their latest models. Specifically in segmented scenarios, Arm technology has provided support for 80% of IVI systems and 65% of ADAS systems.
Arm believes that the future of automotive technology lies in creating solutions that seamlessly integrate edge computing, IoT functions and AI. Arm will continue to collaborate with a wide range of automotive ecosystems to provide scalable, efficient, and safe solutions for the automotive industry, jointly unleashing the potential of the AI era.
