Da Da Da You Shang Group launches 11kW bidirectional battery charger solution based on ST products

Post on Jan 01,1970

On January 16, 2025, Da Da Da Da Da Holdings, an internationally leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Youshang has launched an 11kW bidirectional battery charger solution based on STMicroelectronics' (ST) STDES-BCBIDIR product.

With the rapid development of electric vehicles and industrial energy storage systems, efficient and reliable bidirectional charging technology is gradually becoming the focus of the industry. In this context, Da Da Da Da You Shang has launched an 11kW bidirectional battery charger solution based on the ST STDES-BCBIDIR product. This solution is equipped with advanced power conversion technology, which can achieve efficient energy conversion between the energy storage system and the power grid, effectively balancing the power grid load and improving energy utilization efficiency.

STDES-BCBIDIR is a complete bidirectional battery charger solution under the ST brand. It consists of two power stages: PFC and isolated DC-DC stage. PFC is based on a three-phase full bridge topology with a working frequency of 70kHz, ensuring efficient and stable energy input. And due to the external connection of the resonant unit, the structure of the DC-DC part can be configured as DAB (Dual Active Bridge) or CLLC (Capacity inductor inductor Capacitor) topology to meet the high-efficiency energy conversion under different conditions. In the DAB topology, the DC-DC stage operates at a fixed switching frequency of 100kHz, while in the CLLC topology, the switching frequency can be adjusted between 82kHz and 235kHz.

In terms of hardware, STDES-BCBIDIR consists of a main power board, driver board, and control board. Among them, the main power board integrates ACEPACK DMT-32 SiC power module, which includes six sets of topology M1P45M12W2-1LA modules for power factor correction (PFC) stage, and two full bridge M1F45M12W2-1LA modules for both sides of DC-DC stage. In addition to these power modules, the main power board is also equipped with large capacity capacitors, sensing circuits, and auxiliary power supplies to ensure stable and efficient power supply. The driver board is designed specifically for full bridge and six sets of ACEPACK DMT-32 SiC power modules, using an electrically isolated 4A dual gate driver based on STGAP2SiCD to ensure efficient operation of SiC MOSFETs. The control board is based on the STM32G474RE series microcontroller, equipped with connectors for communication and programming, as well as test points and status indicators for debugging and monitoring, enabling comprehensive system monitoring and management.

In addition, the solution also provides upgradable firmware with additional features of reliability and security. Under the collaborative innovation of software and hardware, the peak efficiency of this scheme exceeds 96%, achieving dual optimization of energy utilization and cost control.
