On November 14, 2024, Dalian University Holdings, a leading international semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary, Shiping, has launched a car headlight solution based on the Convenient Power CPSQ5453 and CPSQ5352 chips.
Driven by electrification and intelligence, every aspect of the automotive industry is unleashing unprecedented vitality and innovative potential. Among them, car headlights, as an important component of the entire vehicle, have not only been significantly improved in design and function, but their market size has also continued to expand with the innovation of in car technology, becoming a major highlight of the rise of the automotive industry. In response to the changes in car headlights, Da Da Da Da Da Shi Ping has launched a car headlight solution based on the easy to charge semiconductor CPSQ5453 and CPSQ5352 chips, which can efficiently drive LED light sources and achieve precise beam control and adjustment.
CPSQ5453 is a dual channel and independently operable constant voltage and constant current boost power controller that can control power topologies such as Boost and Buck Boost, and adapt to a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 65V. The chip has built-in frequency jitter function, which can improve EMI interference. In terms of communication, the chip is equipped with an SPI communication interface, allowing users to flexibly configure the chip's functions and parameters through SPI. In addition, CPSQ5453 adopts peak inductor current control technology, which has a fast response rate. At the same time, the chip provides multiple operating modes, including normal mode and limp mode. In addition, CPSQ5453 can achieve independent operation mode by burning some OTP registers to meet customers' requirements for functional integrity. In low current working scenarios, the current error compensation function of CPSQ5453 can maintain high current accuracy. In terms of safety, the chip has a comprehensive protection mechanism, including output overvoltage protection, short circuit protection, overcurrent protection, etc., which can ensure the stable operation and safety of the system.
CPSQ5352 is an automotive grade dual channel buck LED driver chip, with a maximum output current of 1.6A per channel. This chip has a wide input voltage range and can operate normally between 4.5V and 65V. It supports SPI communication and has a communication rate of over 2MHz. CPSQ5352 adopts advanced COT control pipeline design, with fast dynamic load response capability, especially suitable for use with matrix headlight controllers. Under all working conditions, CPSQ5352 can maintain high-precision current control. In addition, CPSQ5352 supports analog dimming and PWM dimming, and allows for programmed control of output current as well as the duty cycle and frequency of PWM dimming. Inside the chip, there is also a 10 bit high-precision ADC that allows users to directly read key parameters.
Yichong Semiconductor is a rapidly developing high-performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuit chip design company. Its products cover the full chain solution from 220V power supply to battery, and can be widely used in industries such as smartphones/wearables, personal computers, smart homes, and automotive electronics. The car headlight solution launched by the university's Shiping is based on the profound foundation of easy to charge semiconductors in power control and driving technology. In the future, both parties will continue to cooperate and jointly promote the development of automotive lighting technology.
