Shanghai, China, November 14, 2024- AMS, a leading global optical solutions provider, announced today that it has partnered with Supernode, a leading domestic provider of multi industry 3D vision solutions, to launch a home sweeping robot solution using advanced Belago infrared LEDs from AMS. This collaboration significantly enhances the visual recognition capabilities of robots, bringing revolutionary progress to the fields of home cleaning and industrial service robots.
The navigation system is the core component of the robotic vacuum cleaner, equivalent to the "nerve center", responsible for collecting environmental information, determining its own positioning, and performing path planning functions. The sweeping robot solution jointly launched by both parties is equipped with the AMS Osram Belago 1.2 Dot Pattem LLLuminator infrared LED, which has excellent infrared fill light function and can provide dot matrix and infrared fill light on textured objects (such as white walls). The Belago emitter generates about 5000 dots at a wavelength of 940nm, and the stereo matching algorithm can use these dot matrix patterns to process these low texture situations and achieve high-precision depth maps. Another advantage of the dot matrix pattern is that it can reduce the computational load required for depth calculation.
The application of Belago significantly improves the object recognition ability of robotic vacuum cleaners, enabling them to accurately avoid obstacles and efficiently plan cleaning paths.
The Belago dot matrix lighting fixture adopts a mini package and is compatible with standard lead-free reflow technology, which can be widely used in various 3D sensing platforms including mobile devices, IoT devices, and robots. In addition, Belago LED meets human eye safety standards to ensure safe use.
With the help of multiple Belago infrared LEDs, the visual recognition solution can achieve a maximum recognizable distance of 60-70m under strong light. These technological advantages make Belago not only suitable for household sweeping robots, but also provide broader application prospects for industrial service robots such as AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles) and unmanned service robots.
