The annual Arm Tech Symposium ended successfully this week in Shanghai and Shenzhen, and also announced the perfect conclusion of this grand event that was held in five major cities in the Asia Pacific region. The conference, with the theme of "Let's Reshape the Future Together," held four keynote speeches, four in-depth dialogues, 13 ecological partner technology speeches, 33 Arm themed technology speeches, and two developer workshops in Shanghai and Shenzhen. It attracted over 3500 industry professionals, engineers, and developers to sign up and discuss cutting-edge innovations and artificial intelligence (AI) development trends based on Arm technology.
At this conference, Arm delved into the computing needs of AI and shared how to help partners better grasp the development opportunities of AI through the three core components of hardware, software, and ecosystem. By adopting system level design thinking, Arm focuses on hardware and software collaborative optimization, launching computing subsystems (CSS) for different application markets, expanding underlying technologies, and consolidating AI computing needs. At the same time, Arm continues to invest in innovative software technologies to provide efficient, easy-to-use, and seamless development experiences from cloud to end for 20 million developers worldwide. In addition, Arm also assists partners in accelerating the product launch process through numerous ecosystem projects, including Arm Total Design.
As one of the most significant technological changes of our time, AI has great potential to become the most important technology of human life. Arm not only provides a widely used general-purpose computing platform, but also enables 20 million developers worldwide to use the Arm computing platform as a foundation for AI innovation by combining IP with open source software and tools, as well as a wide range of industry-leading ecosystems. With the collaboration of ecological partners, Arm expects to have over 100 billion AI capable Arm devices worldwide by the end of 2025.
James McNiven, Vice President of Product Management at Arm's Terminal Business Unit, emphasized in his keynote speech at the conference in Shenzhen that Armv9, as Arm's latest technology architecture, was designed from the beginning to support AI computing and continues to iterate and update. Through key technologies such as SVE, SVE2, SME, Arm continuously optimizes the mobile AI experience with architecture innovation and powerful software hardware collaboration capabilities, empowering developers to achieve excellent AI performance.
Han Boxiao, General Manager of Vivo's Product Line, said, "AI is bound to reshape the interaction between humans and devices. Everything we do is to make AI serve humans. As the annual flagship launched by Vivo, the vivo X200 series has launched the Dimensity 9400 platform based on the second-generation full core architecture, equipped with Arm's latest generation Cortex-X925 ultra large core, achieving PC level CPU performance. In addition, Vivo and Arm continue to deepen their cooperation and established a joint laboratory this year, leveraging their respective strengths in user understanding and technology empowerment to bring users an excellent AI experience
Liao Lei, Chief Engineer of Automotive Software at Guangzhou Automobile Group Automotive Engineering Research Institute, shared on innovative research and development models in the competitive landscape of the automotive industry. He emphasized that Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs) are leading the development of in vehicle software towards platformization, flexibility, agility, and differentiation. The implementation of SDV relies on the close integration of research and development mode, software architecture, and development tools. However, limited by hardware and suppliers, coupled with long development and validation cycles, SDVs face challenges in adapting and deploying on different hardware platforms. Therefore, innovative software architecture is particularly important. The software architecture of SDV can achieve software and hardware decoupling, quickly adapt and iterate based on the platform, and create excellent travel experience for users through low code development, virtualization verification and other tools.

At present, there are over 20 million software developers worldwide building applications on Arm based devices, and software topics have become one of the focuses of this annual technology conference. Arm's continuous investment in software has achieved significant results and is building the world's largest AI developer community. The developer workshop held for the first time at this conference received enthusiastic responses from participants, focusing on topics that developers are most concerned about, such as Windows on Arm native applications, LLM inference on Android systems, and generative AI acceleration. The workshop provided developers with intuitive technical experiences, stimulated their innovation potential, and added new impetus to related application development.
The Arm Tech Symposium is one of Arm's largest and most influential annual technology events, showcasing the achievements of Arm and its ecosystem in the latest market developments and innovative technologies. So far, the shipment volume of Arm architecture based chips from our partners has exceeded 300 billion, and this huge market foundation enables Arm to support the development of various AI technology fields. From sensors and smartphones to industrial IoT, automobiles, and data centers, Arm architecture has become the cornerstone of future AI computing.
